First for Global in North America
Following extensive testing, Global Terminal has become the first facility in North America to successfully upgrade to the Navis N4 version 2.5 terminal operating system (TOS), having also been the first terminal in the USA to deploy Navis N4 in November 2011.
Located in the Port of New York/New Jersey, the successful implementation, with no disruption to services, supports the terminal’s semi-automation, allowing for increased capacity and productivity on the existing facility while minimising its environmental impact.
Rich Ceci, vice president of Information Technology for Global, said: “This technology platform significantly modernises the facility, enabling the fastest processing and turnaround times in the harbour”.
