Maersk confirms plan to split group

The decision is the result of a strategic review of the group

The Maersk group has confirmed that it will split into an integrated transport and logistics division and an energy segment.

The decision follows a group strategic review which was announced after a tough second quarter, in which its shipping line segment posted a US$151m loss.

The group also announced that Kim Fejfer will step down from his role as APM Terminals (APMT)’s CEO and will leave the group on November 1.
