Evergreen Line has declared General Average with regards to the 12,000 teu containership Ever Forward, which ran aground in the Chesapeake Bay after leaving Baltimore on March 13.
The grounding occurred outside the shipping channel and the vessel has not blocked navigation since, with no reports of injuries or damage to the ship its cargo.
Roughly one year ago another of Evergreen’s container ships, the Ever Given, also ran aground and remained wedged in the Suez Canal for six days, causing disruptions across the supply chain.
