Port of Long Beach receives funding for digital platform 

The Port of Long Beach has received almost US$8m in state funding for its Supply Chain Information Highway digital platform. 

The new funding is set to help build out functions such as export and rail cargo visibility, user authentication and data security, the exchange of data between foreign ports, truck appointments and various future project enhancements to improve operational efficiency and customer service. 

The cloud-based Supply Chain Information Highway will enable stakeholders to make scheduling, planning and operational decisions prior to cargo arrival, allowing a more efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
