Hapag-Lloyd records US$2.6bn profit for 2024

Transport volumes increased by 5% to 12.5m teu

Hapag-Lloyd recorded a Group profit of US$2.6bn for 2024, which was 18% lower than the previous year due to lower interest income and higher tax expenses. 

However, Group EBITDA increased to over US$5bn, Group EBIT grew slightly to US$2.8bn and revenue rose by 7% to US$20.6bn. 

Rolf Habben Jansen, Hapag-Lloyd CEO, said: “In a challenging market environment, we achieved solid results and further increased customer satisfaction. We have further consolidated and expanded our terminal business under the Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) brand.
