APMT Barcelona expands reefer capacity by 31%

APMT Barcelona now has a total 677 reefer plugs

APM Terminals (APMT) has increased its reefer capacity by 31% and improved the electric capacity of its terminal at the Port of Barcelona in response to growing customer demand.

APMT Barcelona has added 152 reefer plugs to the terminal which has raised the total to 677 while new reefer racks enable reefers to be stacked up to four containers high.

According to the terminal operator, the new racks improve safety for employees carrying out repairs and maintenance while they are also an upgrade on the current racks that are only able to stack three containers high.
