When orders for mobile equipment spreaders and fixed-length spreaders are included, the Stockholm-based company sold upwards of 2,000 units over the year. Its spreaders are now in service at 96 of the world’s top 100 container terminals.
“2006 was remarkable not only for the size of our order book, but also for the breadth of our customer loyalty, as Bromma continues to be the leading crane spreader manufacturer in every segment of this business – ship-to-shore cranes, mobile harbour crane operations and yard crane operations,” said Lars Fredin, vice-president, sales and marketing.
Bromma sold more than 240 STS45 separating twin-lift ship-to-shore spreaders alone. China was an especially dynamic market, with the largest orders including 15 STS45 units to Shenzhen, 12 to Dalian and 16 to Nansha (all via crane OEM ZPMC) and eight to Yanghshan (via SPMP).
