Maersk has stepped down from the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS)’s board and has decided to support the strengthening of the Word Shipping Council (WCS).
Denmark’s largest shipping company has decided that the ICS’ approach and outreach no longer reflects its views and values.
“Multi-vocal by definition, trade associations are always an expression of compromise between their members. As such, Maersk will not always be aligned with their positions, and retains, like any other member, its ability to choose a different path,” Maersk stated on its website.
