TEC Container delivers its first on-shore power station at Port of Palma

TEC Container has delivered its first on-shore power station for cold ironing at the Port of Palma in Mallorca, Balearic Islands.

The company first took note of shore power more than three years ago, recognising that it was a “crucial” way of providing power to vessels while they are berthed.

Shore power allows vessels’ auxiliary engines to be shut down and bunker consumption to be replaced with electricity from the grid, thus helping to reduce air and noise pollutants.
