Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT), a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI), has received two new automated ship-to-shore (STS) cranes as part of an AU$235m (US$150m) expansion to increase the terminal capacity to 1.25m teu.

According to the terminal operator, the cranes are the largest in Australia with a lift height of 49 m – 10 m higher than the current five STS cranes at the terminal.

The 60 m boom outreach also enables the cranes to operate 22 containers across a vessel, three more containers than the existing STS cranes with a 50 m boom outreach.
