Phase one of ULCT comprises a total area of 40 ha, a quay length of 440 m with an alongside depth of 13.5 m, a storage capacity of 78,700 teu and 6,000 reefer plugs and has an annual capacity of 440,000 teu. Current handling equipment includes four ship- to-shore Panamax gantries, eleven RTGs and two RMGs.
ULCT is managed by a NCC and EUROGATE partnership.
To be developed in three phases which will be completed by 2025 when annual capacity will have increased to around 3m teu, ULCT has the potential “to become the largest and the most modern container terminal in Russia and the Baltic Sea region”, said Alyona Ashurkova, NCC President.
